A patent provides an inventor with exclusive rights over his invention for a limited period. There is no need to visit the patent office as the application can be filed online. It is only in case the application needs to be filed offline that it can be physically filed in the Office at the counter. All communications in this regard with the office will be made through mails. A patent application can be filed with the Indian Patent Office through either provisional specification or complete specification by paying as in schedule I.
